Exhibiting in Hall 10.1, Stand 4104, Hewland’s technical and commercial teams will be on hand to discuss our advanced race transmission system designs and related components, which can be seen across motorsport from electric single seat racers, through to classic series touring cars and GTs.
One of the highlights of this year’s Hewland stand is the CFT-200 transmission, developed specifically for TCR use. Optimised for both performance and endurance, this highly popular gearbox is used in both Cupra / VAG applications. With spares and support handled by an approved distributor network, the CFT-200 uses Hewland’s proven MLI gear range (used in GT4 and F3 applications) to create a compact and lightweight, yet highly reliable, gearbox.
Adapted from the off-the-shelf LWS-200 longitudinal GT transmission, the HTS-200 is designed to handle even higher torque demand of up to 1000Nm. Developed exclusively for the Pagani Huayra R Evo track car, this highlights Hewland’s ability to work with OEMs to create bespoke transmission solutions. One of the distinctive features of this imposing gearbox is its larger bespoke casing needed to accommodate the bigger crownwheel due to the increased torque.

Also on show will be the HSC-200 – an H-gate synchromesh transmission designed specifically for Porsche restomods. A direct replacement for the original G50 gearbox (with the same packaging space), this was originally developed for Singer Vehicle Design as the HSP-200, which was a magnesium unit. Available as an off-the-shelf product, the HSC transmission is available in both magnesium and aluminium casings, demonstrating Hewland’s flexible approach to material selection. The unit on display at PMW has exposed helical gearing attached to the front casing – which provides better NVH characteristics for road car use. Boasting an H-gate transmission, the HSC also benefits from a robust supply of synchronisers.
Other high-performance transmissions on display at PMW include the TMT-200, a transaxle, mid torque GT gearbox used in Radical’s SR10 and the F3B-200, a compact unit developed for use with Dallara’s latest Formula 3 cars.
Andy Morley, managing director of Hewland Engineering, said: “I am really looking forward to this year’s PMW Expo, which is one of the highlights of the exhibition year for us. While the team in Maidenhead has been busy this season supporting our expanding motorsport customer roster, we’ve also been busy establishing our new test facility in Warwickshire, which further enhances our capability to support both race teams and performance marques alike.”
